For the fourth consecutive year, we are awarding our Scholarship. This year, the recipient is Martin T. Pedersen, who is going to Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) in Japan on exchange in the Fall of 2011.
Martin impresses with his grounded, but very strong presence as well as his drive and ambitious mindset; all collected in an unpretentious appearance. His essay, My North Korean Encounter, which is seemingly a recount of a travel experience, is, in fact, a highly complex and intelligent essay on important human values and with a very clear morale -- that we can change the world, step by step, person by person.
Download and read Martin's essay here.
As mentioned, this is the fourth year of our Scholarship. We continue to be very impressed with the applications we get, the essays we read, and the people we meet -- thank you so much for this inspiration. Also, during the years, we have seen other people being inspired to start scholarships on their own, which is fantastic. This is the essence of "pay it forward"
Best wishes for the Summer,
Christoffer and Bjorn
